Bend, Oregon is a big playground; there's way too much to do. This is a healthy problem, I presume. Bendite's pride is a "work hard, play harder" attitude. I mean, trail running, microbrews, and kayaks all in the same day? Yes, of course!
Miles of running trails weave themselves through Shelvin Park just east of downtown creating an accessible, outdoor getaway. After a solid run, we ditched the running trails for an ale-trail and requested an Uber back into town.
We mapped together a series of microbrews to sample beer flights at a few of Bend's breweries: Immersion, Crux, Deschutes, and my personal favorite, Boneyard. With Uber's Saved Places feature, traveling to each of the different tasting rooms was seamless and sharing our ETA with friends, simple.
We rented kayaks and paddled the Deschutes River near the Old Mill district. With Bend’s adventures in close proximity, there's more time to play. Anytime I find myself here, it feels like I’m getting lost in the right direction.
